ABSTRACT

A modified rotating-angle softened-truss model for predicting the shear strength of reinforced concrete membrane elements is derived based on the concepts of modified compressive field theory and rotatingangle softened truss model, where “the concrete contribution” in cracked concrete membrane elements is adequately considered. Solution scheme of the proposed model is presented. The theoretical predictions and experimental results of reinforced concrete panels subjected to in-plane shear show good agreement.

Keywords: Modified rotating-angle softened-truss model, Reinforced concrete, Shear strength.
