ABSTRACT

There are many efforts underway to increase the incoming pipeline of students pursuing careers in the STEM fields. However, there is a tremendous need to continually develop the skills and knowledge of engineers currently in the “pipe” through CEE programs. With current technologies and social media, there is an opportunity for CEE providers to enhance traditional programs delivered via courses and seminars by promoting networking and community building across peer groups of engineers to facilitate peer learning and collaborative problem solving around the world. These are important forms of continuing professional development and are necessary to address today’s global challenges.
