ABSTRACT

For professionals studying the four-year bachelor program in Business Engineering, a professional product bridges the gap between study and work. A professional product is work based, is a vehicle for learning and shows the acquired competencies. In the past years however the ideas of what actually constitutes a professional product have not been uniform. This article describes the consequences of these differing interpretations and looks at overcoming these by proposing an outline for a professional product based on the work by Merriënboer and van Aken. The article finishes by giving the outlines for an implementation plan of the professional product.
