ABSTRACT

With the growing global opportunities for engineers, the number of engineering colleges in India and the demand for admission into these colleges have considerably increased. However the industries find the employability of these engineers, to be much lower than the market needs. To address this issue, this paper proposes that the Educational institutions will have to be managed as a business enterprises using global industry standard business excellence frameworks and describes such a case study where the quality of education has been enhanced resulting in improvement of academic results and employability of the graduating engineers.
