ABSTRACT

As technology advances, computing environment composed of large number of terminals/clients and mainframe connected by higher bandwidth LAN (local area network) grow to be smart. The introduction of the heterogeneous databases and their subsequent opportunities to connect information sources across all types of limitations. In fact, querying multiple information resources scattered on the heterogeneous databases (distributed database, parallel databases and web database etc) raises several difficulties for achieving efficiency. Query optimization is a difficult task in a distributed, client/server environment and it becomes a major issue due to handle the complexity and execution location of global queries. In order to optimize queries accurately, sufficient information must be available (for example, table and column cardinality, organization information, and index availability). In this paper firstly we will discuss about the location of the Semantic Query optimization process to rewrite the query and then describe how the complexity will be manage in the distributed query plans.
