ABSTRACT

Recent developments in wireless sensor network (WSN) have shown the importance of routing protocols as they differ in application and networking architecture. The efficiency of WSNs strongly depends on the routing protocol. In this paper, we have discussed some of the important protocols of transport and network layer. Various issues such as energy efficiency, lifetime, scalability of network, packet reliability, and event reliability have been discussed here. The paper concludes with open research issues.
