Effect of Substrate Thickness on Design of Triangular Microstrip Antenna

ABSTRACT

Effect of substrate thickness and permittivity on triangular microstrip antenna is investigated experimentally. Two different triangular microstrip antennas with different substrate thickness and permittivity are proposed.

The results show that for conventional microstrip antenna with low substrate thickness the bandwidth obtained is very less, To enhance the bandwidth the substrate thickness is increased and by using a Foam substrate the bandwidth is enhanced to a greater extent.
